  • Currently, Dr. Kosecoff is working in private equity to identify, select, mentor and manage health services and IT companies.

  • From 2002 to 2012, Dr. Kosecoff was a senior executive inside UnitedHealth Group-PacifiCare. Dr. Kosecoff joined UnitedHealth Group as part of its acquisition of PacifiCare Health Systems in 2005. At PacifiCare, Dr. Kosecoff served as Executive Vice President with responsibility for its specialty businesses, including its PBM, the Medicare Part D Drug Program, PacifiCare Behavioral Health (PBH), PacifiCare Dental & Vision (PDV), and Women's Health Solutions. Upon joining United, Dr. Kosecoff took responsibility for the Medicare Part D business, pharmacy services for United's senior, legacy PacifiCare and external PBM business, as well as the consumer health product division serving seniors. In 2007, Dr. Kosecoff was appointed CEO of Prescription Solutions (now known as OptumRx) with responsibility for United's PBM, Specialty Pharmacy and Consumer Health Products, providing services to more than 13 million members with annual revenue of $18.5 billion. In 2011, Dr. Kosecoff was named Senior Advisor for Optum to identify and develop new growth and collaborative opportunities. Optum encompasses the health services businesses of UnitedHealth Group, consisting of OptumHealth, OptumInsight and OptumRx, representing over 30,000 employers worldwide serving nearly 60 million individuals.

  • Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group-PacifiCare, Dr. Kosecoff was founder, President and Chief Operating Officer of Protocare (now Constella Health Strategies and Radiant Research), a firm whose lines of business included the clinical development of drugs, devices, biopharmaceutical and nutritional products and health services consulting. Dr. Kosecoff was co-founder and Co-CEO of Value Health Sciences (VHS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Value Health, Inc. (NYSE: VHI). VHS was the first company to combine medical sciences and information technology to reengineer the utilization review and approval process, saving payors millions while improving the quality of care.

  • Dr. Kosecoff served as Professor of Medicine and Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she still holds a Research Professorship.

  • In addition to her accomplishments as an entrepreneur, Dr. Kosecoff is a recognized expert in the areas of clinical and health services research, quality of care and technology assessment, disease management, and organization of the health care delivery system. She has published extensively in such journals as the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association, and the Annals of Internal Medicine. She has served as a consultant to the World Health Organization's Global Quality Assessment Programs, on the Institute of Medicine's Board of Health Care Services, the RAND Graduate School's Board of Governors, and the Board of Directors for ALARIS (NYSE: AMI) now part of Cardinal Health, City of Hope, Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA), and the Alliance for Aging Research. Currently, Dr. Kosecoff sits on the board of directors for CareFusion Corporation (NYSE: CFN), Sealed Air Corporation (NYSE: SEE), STERIS Corporation (NYSE: STE), and the Medical Center Board of City of Hope, and serves on the Catalyst Western Region Advisory Board and the City of Hope's Medical Center Board.

  • Dr. Kosecoff holds a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), an MS in Applied Mathematics from Brown University, and a doctorate in Research Methods from UCLA.
